Rainfall is usually a course for excitement, especially among children but it is sad when unexpected things as this happen as a result of heavy rainfall...
In Kebbi, no fewer than 60 houses were damaged when heavy rainfall in the state on Sunday left no fewer than 200 persons homeless and 3 people dead.
According to an Executive Director at the State Emergency Management Agency in Kebbi, Yahaya Chindo, two people died in Mungadi and Maiyama local government areas while 50 houses collapsed in Augie local government area. He added that a building also collapsed at Anguwar Sarakuna in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, where one person died and seven others were injured.
Mr. Chindo said that efforts to sensitize the people on the need to vacate areas identified as prone to flood would be intensified.
