He was quoted as saying: “The
title, Giwar Dan Maje which I am conferring on my wife today represents
strength, it represents stability, it represents protection. In every
household, the first wife is the pillar. She may be joined by one, two
or three other wives.
“I
give Sadiya a lot of credit for the peace and stability in my house,
even those that has not known us but come to the house for the first
time easily recognize her as the pillar of stability in the house.
“It is in recognition of this our living together for 25 years and in appreciation of her role that I give her this title.”
